Bristlenoses are peaceful and gentle bottom dwellers, that are best kept with community fishes. They are easy to look after and great tank cleaners, as they feed on the algae within the tank. They are also an intersting fish that is very active and make a good addition to a community setup.

Feeding Their diet consist mainly of algae, but they can thrive on cucumbers, zucchini, lettuce, spinach and boiled potatoes. If these are not available try the algae based wafers, vegetable pellets and they also love to chew on driftwood or bogwood.
Gender The females tend to be smaller and more robust then the males. Also the males tend to also have larger bristles on their noses.
