Nimbochromis Venustus

Common Name Giraffe Cichlid, Giraffe Hap
Scientific Name Nimbochromis Venustus
Size 22 cm
Origin Eastern Africa, Sandy Parts of Lake Malawi
Tank Setup Preferably kept in a tank with cichlids of same size, otherwise the smallers ones would become food.
Temperature 23 - 27 degrees
Feeding Carnivore, prefers blood worms and frozen food and live food.
Gender The males tend to be more larger and usually have the more bright blue colours on the face and bits and pieces around the body, while the female usually stay in their golden colours.
Comments They are very peaceful cichlids but should not be kept with bite size cichlids or fishes, otherwise they will become a meal. They swim nicely in shoals of 6 to 7 and make a great addition to any cichlid base setup.
